Real Madrid legend Iker Casillas has announced that he would be happy to play again in La Liga.
Goalkeeper spent his career in the various age groups of the Real Madrid academy, before making his debut as a professional with this club, spending 16 seasons, winning five La Liga titles and four Champions League titles. Spaniard left the Los Blancos in 2015 when he moved to Porto.
Although the 37-year-old contract with the Portuguese giants will end at the end of this season, Casillas expects to continue his career at the Portal for two more seasons.
But he still dreams about a return to his home country, to raise even more the 510 appearances in La Liga, the first level of football in Spain.
“I was lucky to have competed in La Liga and unfortunately I’m not there for the moment. I will find it hard to experience something like success with Real Madrid. My time there is in the past, but I would love to go back to La Liga, “Casillas said.
It has been three years since the last time the goalkeeper has played for Spain. Many of his teammates have ended their career with the Nazis, but Casillas hopes to be solved soon by coach Luis Enrique.
“The national team is not something that has come to an end. Unlike other teammates, I have not retired from the national team. I think it is different to the goalkeeper, but I respect the decision of the coach who sees fit to take other goalkeepers with them because they think they are better. ”
“But I still want to play there, so why not? For example, Jesus Navas has proved that he can return to the national team and I am very happy for him. “
