Man United and Real Madrid in the race for “The New Ronaldo”
Manchester United and Real Madrid are supervising Benfica striker Joao Felix, who is considered as “New Cristiano Ronaldo”.
Felix, 19, debuted for the first team in August and became the youngest player to score in the derby of Lisbon when he equalized the result at the end of the match against Sporting Lisbon. In the last game, he scored his eighth goal this season.
A close source with the player has revealed to ESPN that Real Madrid has been monitoring its development, while other clubs such as Manchester United, Barcelona, ??Atletico Madrid, Juventus, Milan, West Ham and Dortmund have been also interested in it.
All these clubs have sent scouts at Benfica to secure Felix’s transfer, but “Los Blancos” and “Red Devils” are the two most interested clubs. His departure clause is believed to be 120m euros and he may leave the Portuguese club this summer.
“I’m not afraid of the figures being mentioned or the comparisons I hear in the media. I’m not afraid of the interest of the biggest clubs on the planet. I feel flattered,” told Felix.
“I am a professional and I am fortunate to be well advised. My father was a professor of physical education, athletic trainer and knows our world very well. Then I have the best agent in the world, Jorge Mendes. ”
“I like big leagues like Spain, England, Italy and France. All the best Portuguese footballers play in the most important foreign league and, of course, I also want to do it. ”
“I would like to play with Cristiano Ronaldo because he is simply the most wonderful. An idol, a world icon, an example for everyone. To play with a beast as him would give me the chance to improve even more. “
