Lionel Messi scored 47th in the free kick in his career in Tuesday’s match and this has led football fans to vote in favor of the five-time Golden Ball winner for the best striker free.
SportBible set up a Twitter poll for football fans and from the 48,000 fans who attended, 42 percent voted for Lionel Messi, who beat David Beckham, Juninho Pernambucano and Ronaldinho to be the best striker free.
Beckham, famous for Manchester United’s beautiful goals for England’s national team in his career, received 26 per cent of the vote, leaving Juninho with 23 per cent. Ronaldinho remained fourth with 9 percent.
This season, Messi has left behind many other players with regard to the statistics on goals scored by free throws. So far, he has achieved 12 goals from these positions, more than all the others.
