AC Milan forward Olivier Giroud made amends for missing a penalty earlier in Tuesday’s Champions League quarterfinal clash, scoring what proved to be the decisive goal against Napoli after an incredible solo run from teammate Rafael Leao.
Though the hosts dominated large portions of the second-leg encounter, the Portuguese star burst into the Napoli end against the run of the play and did brilliantly to retain possession against heavy pressure. Leao then fired a pass across the penalty box to Giroud, who scored from close range in the 43rd minute.

Victor Osimhen cut the aggregate deficit in half for the hosts with an injury-time goal, but Milan did just enough to hang onto their 2-1 advantage en route to reaching the Champions League semifinals for the first time since 2007.
