British media reported that Zinedine Zidane and Frank Lampard are the two most serious candidates to replace Maurizio Sarr as Chelsea coach.
According to Sky Sports, the pair has already been identified as potential substitutes for Sarri after an internal board discussion by the blue board.
The British broadcaster explains that the Chelsea board is very concerned about the latest appearances and team results.
The Blue have accepted 10 goals in the last two matches against Bournemouth and Manchester City before being eliminated by the FA Cup from Manchester United.
This has led the executives to seriously consider Sarri’s dismissal not yet one year after his appointment to the bench.
Zidane is currently out of work as he led Real Madrid towards the three titles in the Champions League and the Spanish league from 2016 until the end of 2018.
Lampard, on the other hand, is Chelsea legend and is currently Derby County coach, who has brought two points close to a playoff spot to be promoted to the Premier League.
